Gazprom hopes for new record of non-CIS gas exports in 2017

MOSCOW, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom will export more natural gas to non-CIS states in 2017 than the planned 178 billion cubic meters and may set a new all-time record, Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said in a news conference on Tuesday.

“We started the year of 2017 impressively. We set new records for daily (exports to non-CIS states) and we are exceeding our exports schedule by 9.5 billion cubic meters,” he said.

“We overshoot the schedule of the previous year by 8.5 billion cubic meters. This gives us great chances, even if I am very, very cautiously optimistic, I can say that we will top the threshold of 178 billion cubic meters. I don’t rule out that we will set a new record.”

In 2016, Gazprom raised non-CIS gas exports by 12.5% on the year to more than 179.3 bcm, which is an all-time record.
